WaKaNa: A Global Smooth Jazz Force Ascending with New Hit Single “After Hours”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dallas, Texas – January 31, 2026 – WaKaNa Inamura is known as one of Japan’s most respected saxophonists and is rapidly emerging as a global smooth jazz star whose voice resonates across borders, cultures, and charts. With the release of her latest single, “After Hours,” WaKaNa confirms what audiences and industry leaders have increasingly recognized: she is a defining artist of the genre’s next era.

Produced by Grammy-winning producer Greg Manning, After Hours is 4 minutes and 28 seconds of starlight. The track carries a late-night sophistication that invites listeners to slow down, while its soaring melodic power delivers a cinematic journey. Relaxed yet commanding, understated yet unforgettable, After Hours exemplifies WaKaNa’s ability to balance groove, soul, and technical brilliance.

Her rise comes as no surprise to those familiar with her growing catalog. Previous releases such as “Dance with Sea Firefly” showcased the same musical intuition which was an effortless blend of smooth jazz, soul, and R&B that has become her signature. Like other legendary Japanese jazz artist, who paved global paths, WaKaNa is carving out her own enduring footprint, honoring tradition while pushing the genre forward.

Born in Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture, WaKaNa graduated from Shobi Music College and has since become a cultural ambassador for her hometown, officially appointed as Futtsu City’s Tourism Ambassador in 2017. Her artistry is matched by professional acclaim, with endorsements from P. Mauriat, Theo Wanne Mouthpieces, and Légère Reeds—a testament to her technical authority and global standing.

WaKaNa made her U.S. debut in 2018 with her first solo album, “Saxcess Story,” produced by Greg Manning. She followed with “Go for the Sound” (2020), produced by Darren Rahn and featuring Darren Rahn and Koh Mr. Saxman. The single received nationwide U.S. airplay and earned a place on the Smooth Jazz charts, cementing her presence in the American market. Her 2021 release “SilK,” once again produced by Greg Manning, further expanded her international audience.

Now, with After Hours, WaKanA stands at a pivotal moment. She is an artist in full command of her sound, reaching listeners worldwide with music that is both intimate and expansive. She represents not only the evolution of smooth jazz, but also a glimpse of its global future.

The world is listening and WaKaNa is ready. Listen today, wherever you stream your music.
